TB help
Hi Guys,
I was checking the bolts today of the intake manifold and the throttle body for any loose bolts and while tightening the throttle body bolt, it broke in. Do you know the part number of the bolts

You may have to go to the dealership and have them look it up, that's what I did for one of the plenum cover bolts.

Sorry- don't know the size either, but another member had this happen and when he removed the TB the bolt had broken at a point he could reach it pliers and removed by hand.
Then it's one trip to Home Depot (or whatever) with a good bolt to match and you're done! BTW- replacing these bolts with stronger ones will increase the risk of a stripped thread if we're not using a torque wrench. |

Well the screwed side is stuck inside and seems to be holding the TB well but I just cant keep it like this.
I was lucky to keep all the stock bolts left after installing mace package. I found one extra bolt (side one) which is a bit shorter but it will reach the end of the TB. Hopefully it will do the job. My advice guys, dont go hard on your bolts. The stock bolts break easily and mess things up .

Another one of my recent Home Depot purchases was the Alden Grabit Pro for damaged screw and bolt removal.
They claim it's "Faster than any other tool on Earth!" And OMG, it was!! Give it a try. |

I can't speak to the quality of the stock bolts, but since the torque recommendation for the TB bolts is 7 lb-ft, I'd say someone must have gone a bit "hard" to break one of them for sure...
