Exhaust decibel pop
So we all know the SS exhaust pops and of course the pop gets louder with an exhaust and then louder with headers. I am really not bothered by it.
Anyway today I changed the check valve connector on my RX catch can to a non check valve connector and I noticed the decibel pop is now gone. Does that make any sense and yes, why? Sent from my 2SS/RS Last edited by nyrfan; 07-09-2013 at 08:42 AM. |

This is very interesting. I want to remove the decel popping on mine. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.

It's weird. I did not change it for that reason, but I like the fact it is not gone.

Thats wierd, I installed a catch can and my pops are louder especially letting off the gas going 70mph.

Thats weird because most of the decel pop is from DFCO (Deceleration Fuel Cutoff)

Like TECADON said, decel pop is a function of DFCO. Not sure why you would experience any change after messing with your catch can.

Nyrfan,
You could try putting the old check valve back on to you CC and see if the decel pop come back.
