Exhaust decibel pop

So we all know the SS exhaust pops and of course the pop gets louder with an exhaust and then louder with headers. I am really not bothered by it.

Anyway today I changed the check valve connector on my RX catch can to a non check valve connector and I noticed the decibel pop is now gone.

Does that make any sense and yes, why?

This is very interesting. I want to remove the decel popping on mine. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.

It's weird. I did not change it for that reason, but I like the fact it is not gone.

Thats wierd, I installed a catch can and my pops are louder especially letting off the gas going 70mph.

Thats weird because most of the decel pop is from DFCO (Deceleration Fuel Cutoff)

I don't know, I guess we'll see tomorrow after it sits for a night. But all day today there was nothing.

Like TECADON said, decel pop is a function of DFCO. Not sure why you would experience any change after messing with your catch can.

I'm thinking that the same people who like a muffler delete would also like the poping.

Nyrfan,

You could try putting the old check valve back on to you CC and see if the decel pop come back.

I have noticed this too, maybe a coincidence?

Not me. I love the decel popping but can't stand muffler deletes on any street car.
