They led me to believe that no dealers were. But after reading on here I see that a bunch of people got both discounts.

So my question is: Do dealerships have the authority to decide what discounts they honor, or did they lie to me and screw me out of like $1,750?

Also, if any of you got either of these discounts will you please tell me what dealship you got them at?

Thanks!
I see you are in AZ, so am I - what dealer was this.

I got my car through Thorobred, pleasant experience, they gave me the USAA discount, tried for supplier discount, did not get that..

I went to Gateway Chevy in Avondale. Long story, but I should have gone to Thorobred since they are right down the street from me.

I emailed a manager that told me to contact him if I had any concerns. If I don't hear back from them soon I'll call them.

I figured it out, after tax and financing that $750 tuns into $930. That's a good amount of money!

What are all the discounts available and how do you qualify for any of the discounts? Im new to all this I usually just buy barley used vehicles and this is my first new car/order. Do you have to ask for the discount at time of order or is it during delivery? I ordered on 9/14/09.

Can someone help me Please!!!!

I got both USAA and GMS through Shaheen Chevrolet here in Lansing, MI

My salesman, who posted on here about having 3 SS's for sale told me that they will ship to other dealers.

Ya? How'd you guys know these existed. Will the dealer offer them to me or do I have to bring it up? I have USAA as well.

It's a discount for people in the service. USAA is a insurance company for the men and women in uniform.

I guess I'll call the manager and talk to him about it. I'm sure he'll say I'm out of luck, but it doesn't hurt to call.

When you pick up your car you will be asked to sign a note (my dealer did this) that says the dealer 'made you no promises.' I suggest that you don't sign this since you had a representative promise you something that you didn't get. ALSO they are very passionate about their survey, which you also will get after picking up your car. My dealer said that if I didn't pick 'completely satisfied' that anything else was failure for them.......and I had at least 4 guys tell me this so there must be something to it. Anyhoo my point is that you may not have been given the rebates you expected, but you sure can say your piece through service feedback, see?

When the dust settles, be sure to let USAA know what happened...
(I've been with USAA for the past 32 years)...

Yes dealerships can choose which discounts to honor. But they did lie by saying no dealerships were accepting those. I got both of those discounts at my dealership, Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, TX.
