If you say it was a GT500, then it must have been a GT500, but I've never seen any of those trap less than 104-105mph in stock trim at any altitude.

What gear do you guys usually finish the 1/4 in?

Here is my philosophy on why I won. My car puts down roughly 370-380HP to the wheels to the 09GT500's 450ish. Both cars weigh the same so he has me beat on the HP to weight ratio. I run a custom tuned/better geared auto. My launch/60' times are inherently going to be better. If we were both running slicks we would both get better traction and I would still launch faster IMHO. My tranny completes the shift in .12 seconds. Pretty sure most guys can't shift that fast. My TCC also locks at WOT, so after the 1-2 shift is completed all the power is at the wheels. A tenth here and a tenth there add up in my favor and that is why I won. Don't think I can take a 2010 GT500. Maybe after I install my CAI and Protorque converter I'll change my mind. I have a video of the race. It is 98megs so it's too big to post. The recording is well, not good, as it was my fathers first attempt at using my camera. I can however email it to anyone who wants to see. Definitely not You tube worthy as most people would just dog the operator of the camera.

So you're ignoring the driver completely?

Don't get me wrong, that's a nice run but a GT500 should be faster than that with a competent driver behind the wheel. For that race though, you were the winner.

Good point. IMO he was a good driver. I base that on his consistent launches and ET's.

In the MM & FF review of the 2010 GT500, Evan Smith went 11.59 at 118.5. The conditions were excellent (Englishtown, NJ) and he had ET Streets on the car.
With the stock tires, the car trapped at 120+ MPH.

These cars are pretty fierce...

That's impressive. Just goes to show what a trained professional can do.

07-09 GT500's are runnin 12.40's to 12.80's all day long and 2010 GT500's are hittin 11.90's to 12.20's. The 2010 Shelbys are nothing to play with especially when that 4.0L Whipple upgrade comes out !!!

His consitant times show he was consistantly babying the car down the track. Some owners know how to drive and others are afraid to drive their cars as hard as they can, this guy may have been the latter.

My question is at what DA? My car will run 12.4-12-6 all day at around 1200 DA, so with your comparison it was a drivers race.

Ran a 12.6 110 Friday night with a DA of 2000. Corrected run was a 12.3 112. I actually paddled down to third and hit the rev just before the end. Had I not hit the rev I believe it would have been a 12.5 run. I think with better traction and a cold day I could easily see 11's.
