Do these bowtie replacements look legit to you guys?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2010-...#ht_3203wt_940

In a nutshell I want my bowties black, but have had bad luck with black out kits (air bubbles) and would rather replace them all together.

Anyways, how do these look?

And how much of a pain do you think it will be to replace the rear bowtie, and how the hell would you get the current one off without damaging the paint?

Thanks

Why not just tape off yours and paint them, cheep, easy, and if you take your time and do it right, looks stock. I did mine, looks great.

I'm curious - since it's a plastic piece, what did you end up painting it with?

I got mine from www.sfxperformance.com. Part ALS96118K for front and back. They are black powdered coated billet with a border, they also have them without a border. Cost was $49 for the pair plus shipping.
As far as getting the back one off, a little heat and some dental floss or fishing line works well. Search on 'bowtie removal', there are plenty of threads out there.

Those look pretty damn sharp. I have carbon fiber look vinyl on mine now, but would like to get a badge replacement that doesn't have the chrome. I may just have to pick me up a set of these.

in my case, since I car is IOM, I got a small spray can (5 oz.) from the dealer that is IOM so it matched perfectly, they only cost $12.95. doing it in Black sould be easy, just get a can of GOOD AUTOMOTIVE spray paint. Mask off the area to be painted (the gold area), scuff up the gold part of the bowtie, paint it using thin coats.

To the OP,

That ebay listing contradicts itself. The first paragraph in the description states the bowties are powder coated black with a border. Then the last paragraph states they are made out of 100% 6061 T-6 Billet Aluminum and painted a glass black.

I'd ask them, which is it?

They said;

I thought that I had changed all the ads, I revised that painted part, all the black emblems that I sell are powder coated black and made in the USA.

get some decals and put it over the bowties, a lot cheaper than $65, and you can always change them if you want. http://www.ridergraphix.com/2010_Cam..._Blackout.html

Advance Auto Parts sells a 6" x 6' roll of vinyl in several colors that you can cut yourself. I did and have plenty of replacement if needed! Under 10 bucks.

The Bowties by the OP were made by this company. I tried searching and could not find any feedback. I just ordered a polished set from Autoanything. I should have them in a few days...
