Talking i lost my virginity

well, camaro-virginity that is
yesterday i drove a camaro for the first time. it was a 30th anniversary 1997 Z28 with a manual transmission. it was a fun ride, but it took a while to get used to the clutch which was reallllllly stiff. i stalled the car at the very first traffic light

so yeah, hooray for me!

*edit*
uhh, maybe this should be moved to "offtopic"

You never forget your first time, so I am glad it was a special car. Now that you are hooked, you will probably start surfing porn sites like Camaro5, www.chevrolet.com, Hot Rod and other sites showing the Camaro in all her glory. The good news there is help for your new addiction, it is called this forum and it meets every day. Welcome to the initiated. Warning: the desire does NOT go away - EVER.

It's about damned time!

My first Camaro drive was a 1996 RS that my friend owns. That was fun.

First camaro I drove was the 86 IROC I bought.

At the time it had a busted carb and ran so rich you could paint your walls with the exhaust.

The guy who owned it lived at the top of a very tall hill, on a gravel road.

I didn't know how to drive stick yet.

My step-dad put me at the bottom and told me to take it back to the guys house (he was a friend of the family).

I learned to drive stick.

P.S. - REALLY good memories.

Technically I haven't lost it but sorta did. I drove my friends Trans Am WS6. That's the next best thing to the camaro and hopefully in march I get to have the same pleasure as you guys have had.

What, learning to drive stick on a long gravel incline, in a camaro with a truck V8 in it? I did more backwards sliding, car killing, and rock throwing that I did moving up that hill. Most of the time it was at least two at a time - backwards sliding and rock throwing was my favorite though.

After having driven a Chevette for awhile, my '85 Z28 seemed incredibly powerful with only 205hp, although it did have lots of torque. I can truthfully say I never stalled it once....it was auto. This new Camaro should be gobbs better than that car.
Do you have yours ordered, diddiyo? If not maybe you should've turned down that drive.

I guess I should share my first time: Dear Pentho...I mean back in 1984 my dad bought a new V6 Berlinetta in black. He lowered it, put ground effects on it, tinted the windows, and removed all of the gold trim and badges from the car. Smoked the taillights and headlight covers...We would wax that car for hours and it had paint two feet deep. Just a beautiful car. It was the first car I ever drove over 30 MPH and I have been smitten by Camaro's call ever since. Even though it was just a 2.8 Auto, I loved that car. (Was also the first car I drove over 100 a few years later...but that is another day) Like I said: You NEVER forget your first time.

nope not yet, I'm still working on my down payment. Right now I'm aiming at a 2LT/RS around May but depending on my budget and how much longer I can wait all that might change (in a V8 direction). I'd also like to test-drive them first and then see which model I like better.

Actually I'm not even sure anymore if I should buy one. I'm moving up north in a few days so I would first need to buy a beater for a couple months before I can make a reasonable down payment. Then there's the issue that I need a dependable car even in the winter because I have to get around at my job etc. Decisions, decisions... the last few weeks have been crazy. Everyday I'm coming up with another idea of what I should do...

I guess that's what "love" does to you
My heart says Camaro , but my head says something else
