best cat back for the money

ive been doing a lot of looking around and so far im seeing most people go with corsa or borla. but what about magnaflow or flowmaster? they are on average 300-400 cheaper than corsa or borla. i had a corsa cat back on my trailblazer ss and im not going to lie it sounded awesome but it only cost me $800. a corsa or borla system for this car is $1000 to $1200. kind of a pretty penny just for a sound upgrade lol when magnaflow or flowmaster is $700-$800. ill spend the extra money if its that much better but from my research 2.5" mandrel bent stainless steel with a 4" tip is the same no matter the brand. your really paying for the name or "distinct sound" of that brands mufflers because they all use the same steel (if your going with a well known brand). what do you guys recommend?

I'll second that, good sound for $900. Sounds just as good as the Corsa and Borla products to me.

Or you could go to the muffler shop and see what they would charge for the piping for a catback and just pick up the mufflers.

The best cat back for the money:
1: Find the one that you like and sounds the best to you.
2: wait for it to go on sale

Heres what I did: I bought used Borla S type axle back ($200), and a stainless steel Jegs X pipe Resonator Delete ($150) + install ($150). Rewelded my 4" quad tips.

$500 total, installed

Sounds amazing and would suggest something very similar.

Qft

Personally I like fastlanes 3" exhaust for the sound. Nor have I seen biger hp gains from anyone else system. But then again I havent looked at numbers for just exhaust with all the systems. I dont have it on my car yet so I am basing this off of videos. I do have my doubts about it though because I have heard that 3" is generally reserved for FI while N/A it is generally better to go with 2.5" A close second is the borla atak system. Borlas are generally pretty good about n9t droning you out while cruising too (atak having the most drone) regardless I would swing over to the bolt ons section and click on some videos and pick the one you like the best.

I have a borla atak. Love the sound and the drone doesn't bother me.

The sound from a Berger Hot Rod Edition Camaro I owned once sounded great, they came with the GMMG Chambered Exhaust. Stainless Works sounds great but I think it's cost quite a bit more then the Sweet Thunder Chambered Exhaust, I think if I decide to do a cat back I'll go with the Sweet Thunder cat back. JMO
