Cat Experiment
Funny name, yeah I know. So for the experiment I'm thinking of removing both sets of cats on my L99 then putting the small rear cats where the large front ones are located. Seems like it would act as a high flow cat. I'm not 100% sure on this, but I'll keep yall posted on it.

I'd be willing to bet it'll throw a CEL. The smaller rear cats probably don't have enough surface area to have the efficiency required to not throw a code. They may flow slightly higher because they are shorter, but your best bet would probably to just gut the rear one and leave the front one if you are not going to tune out the rear O2s. If you were going to tune out the rear o2s, I'd leave the rears where they are at and just gut the front ones. I just removed mine to gut them, then put them back up just like they were. They would be a pain to get to line up just right if you got to rearranging the piping setup.

It WILL throw a code simply because it isn't meeting the currently program parameters. It won't throw a CEL right a way, but it will after several miles of driving. |
