For those of us that like to change our own oil... anybody know what the torque is for the pan drain plug?

I just put it on as tight as I can by hand with a socket. I've never torqued the drain plug on any of my cars. Never had an issue either.

I doubt the dealership pulls out the torque wrench when they do it.

Lucky if a dealer uses the right socket size...on the drain plug. LOL

Just make it very snug hand tight with ratchet, no need to really tighten it down too strong, the rubber insert bushing takes up any gap.

I use the Fomoto quick drain on my Camaro. Also put one on me C6 Corvette and my GXP. Really makes draining the oil easy. As far as torque goes, I really don't know, but I am sure that there is a torque value for the plug somewhere.

Hand tighten with a box end wrench. Should be plenty of torque on the drain plug.

has anybody heard about the oil filter adaptor bolts being broken, and the oil pan being replaced under warranty on a 2010 rs/ss
