It is Windviel Blue. When we see one, it is usually a v6. We lucked up when we found this GT. It's actually supposed to go to my son in two years and serving as my DD until then; however, its times on the track are so good, I am thinking about keeping it and doing some mods. I don't ever plan to mod the Camaro, but we just put new shoes on the pony and are thinking of a shot of nitrous and a gear. That should get us easily to the 8s in an 1/8th.

Both runs had slow times....is it because of the altitude in your area? I thought all SS's run in the 8's

Hardly any SS's could run in the 8s. In fact, the only ones that are breaking into the 8s are the ones with mods. My car is a 2006 GT 4.6 with only 300hp. It has pulled an 8.9 before, and it is completely stock with street tires on it.

What surprised me was that I was posting some of the best times of all the NAs, even though I was running a vert with an extra 300 lbs of weight. I was dialing in at 8.75-8.80 ... though best time was only an 8.82. Most folks were having issues hooking up to start and their 60's were rough as a result ... I suspect it was eagerness to race and hitting throttle too hard or loading up too many RPMs... track conditions weren't very good and got worse toward the end of the night. |

I thought it may be the altitude where you're at, but I ran a 8.7 1/8th mile bone stock on streets in Sport mode. Was about 75 degrees out too

The Mustang wasn't having any problems. I was pulling 9.1 and couldn't hook up on take off. I am very amateur as well. I have only driven down a track five or six different times. My best time in the Mustang prior to this time was 9.3 on this track. I was even running with a full tank of gas. I filled up right before I got there. I am not sure why the Camaros were running slow.
