Nobody mentioned actually CLEANING the dash...

The solution to tacky/sticky is not throw more dressing on it. Idk what cleaners you have available, but something like diluted APC (10:1 or so depending on the APC) or a dedicated interior cleaner product should be used first.

Then apply an interior dressing. The one Glen suggested or one from my thread.

Is it normal? It has never been dressed or anything. I usually just wipe it down with a wet cloth but recently it doesn't come clean.
I never dressed it because I was afraid of losing that new look. And my car even SMELLS new and I didn't want a grape banana piņa colada nonsense smell going on my dash.

I will try to pick up a better all purpose cleaner. I will check the thread for what you use.

Glen, I will check out that dressing!

I'd bet it has been dressed at some point, probably during dealer prep. Even if it hasn't something obviously has gotten onto it.

Nothing I recommend for interior has a scent. You're fine.

To save you some time: GTechniq W2 (10:1) wipedown to clean, followed by Werkstat Satin Prot or Ultima Interior Guard+ would be my recc.

The time has come. I was able to procure a PC and some adams products. I have the
Sever Swirl Remover with green pad
Swirl and Haze Remover with orange pad
Fine Machine Polish
Machine Super Sealant with black pad

I just had one question before I tackle the job this weekend. How do I know what stage to start with? Is it best to just start from the beginning with the Severe Swirl remover? My car has never been polished, so I figured that would be the best place to start.

Thanks for the input on this thread for the last 2 years. CamaroDreams, I wish you still lived in Dallas!

Do you have a white pad for light cut?

You always start with the least aggressive method. No sense in taking off more clear/working harder than you have to.

In this case, you'd start with FMP and a white pad. If that doesn't get it, step up to SHR and an orange pad, then finish with FMP and white.

Also, I am a fan of that werkstat! Unfortunately, I forgot the bottle in Dallas when I moved to school. Don't want to forget that when I go home! lol

I do not have the white pad, but it is in the mail! It should be here this weekend when I do the job.

And great! So start at the least aggressive, check, bump if needed. Thanks again for always helping on this thread!

Make sure to perfect a small 2x2 area first before moving on. If that first spot so good with just FMP, then do your whole car. If not, stay in that same 2x2 area and step down to SHR, then FMP before moving on. The goal here is to perfect that first spot so you know what you'll be in store for on the rest of the car.

Also, see if you can find the older Adams vids on YouTube for that correcting combination. Their new process is a two stage process instead of a three which you purchased.

Still good stuff, and as long as you're using a PC, you won't hurt anything.

I'd amend that saying that only applies if the whole care is in the same condition, which is approximately never.

But yes, that is great advice for panels with similar condition.

Still waiting on the white pad, but I started with some SSR and SHR. Question. Do the Adams products always dust like crazy? Or am I doing something wrong? Things seem to be going well. This is my first time polishing so it's not 100% on the larger scratches but it's noticeably better.

You're probably using too much product

Yep, this, but also make sure you're not lifting your pad off the paint until the pad stops spinning.

If you're seeing a lot of dusting, too much product is likely the cause, as Matt mentioned. It's a common mistake to think more polish is better. It actually causes the pores of the foam to be clogged and that's where you see the dusting from.

Instead of adding more product on each panel, try a spray of Detail Spray to re-prime the pad. That should help alleviate your dusting issue.
