What Hylton said makes alot of sence, they need to fill the trucks or trains with enough cars to make transporting them cost affective. I work
with moving things all around the country and parts of the world and we
constantly need to look at the costs of moving things. Otherwise the consumer is going to be paying alot more in transportation fees. It costs
my company sometimes two or three times to deliver something to Canada
as opposed to California. Even though California might be twice the distance for the items to travel there. Many of you are almost at the finish line hang in there.

you put in your email or order number then it takes you to the status page. It's right there. This is a truck transport though, it might be different if it's by train.

My ZL1 is in the exact same state. Dealer has been invoiced, and GM Connects shows 4B00, not 4200. I keep waiting to see 4200 so that I can get a rail car number from my dealer, but it is staying at 4B00. I have not bothered calling customer service, but I would like to know via GMConnects that my car has actually shipped.

Hylton - Does this mean my car is waiting at plant for a rail car full of vehicles shipping to CA at which time it will report 4200 in GM Connects? When the car is loaded is the information entered via a bar code scan into the database?

Guys, Hylton is right. My car is just like yours; bayed, invoiced, and bayed again. But, I just got this email from my dealer:

Car is on the train. Left Oshawa Saturday.

Catfish - Did your dealer send the rail car number with the notice it was on a train or is he basing his statement on the fact it was invoiced?

I went to the dealer this morning and they gave me the rail car number. (They did not know they could, or had the info. I asked them to look it up). I called the 800 number given on GMConnects and did the location request. This morning it was on it's way to someplace in Ohio this afternoon it's on it's way to Louisville, KY. The tracking system works great!

You can track a toothbrush better than a 60000 car.Gm connect told me it shipped by truck now by rail next will be a plane. my dealer said they will drop it off by helicopter, just saying

Really? You pre-order and track your toothbrushes?

How?

Why?

Sometimes status' are updated after the fact. Being in California means that your car will be shipped by rail and may have multiple hubs. Your dealer has the ability to look up your railcar number so I would suggest you ask him to. If he has no info for you, try him next Monday.
