Question Firmer shift for L99?

Anyone know what you can do to make the A6 shift harder.......... besides a manual transmission.

Depends on how hard you want it to shift.. it can be firmed up some with a Computer tune.

Had some torque management taken out of mine via a tune and it works great. You know when it shifts gears now. I love it.

A trans tune is your best bet. My car use to bark the 1/2 and the 2/3 at the track. I'll soon find out if it can do the 3/4 as well. The only handheld you can get currently is the SCT, and that is what I have for my car. Its the easiest way to go about it. Jannetty Racing has a deal that you get a free tune if you get the SCT from him. Maybe some of the other handhelds will offer trans support soon. Other than that its a dyno tune. I wouldn't even think about a shift kit.

I agree with all the above. TRANS tune makes it a WHOLE new car. I can easily chirp 1/2 and sometimes 3. To give you an idea...(with traction on)

Just grab an SCT from Ted. If you don't like it or want to go in a different direction you'll be able to sell it pretty quickly. But I bet you'll end up keeping it.

What do you recommend for a programmer for the trans tune?

Do you mean on the street or the track?

The street its seems normal. Its goes right into gear, does ride into it, if that makes sense. So I would say nice and firm with no neck snapping.

On the track its so quick it barks all three shifts and sometimes breaks the rires loose. But again, just firm. Not neck snapping or herky jerky. The only reason I can even tell its shifting is that I can hear the rpms jump when the tires spin.

The SCT right now is the only one that offers trans support. Thats what Ted uses to tune my car with and I'm happy and the product is great and full of features.
