How to fix the UGLY LFX?

Looking to dress up under the hood for show season this year. Has anyone done anything different with their LFX other than paint the engine cover?

Has anyone painted or polished the valve covers? Is the crappy cardboard insulation on them needed for anything?

It is one ugly unit, just wanted to see if anyone else has tried to make it look any better.

I am working on wrapping all the wiring with TechFlex, looks nice so far, will post pics when done.

Thanks for the advise, but I'm not really concerned about the cost. Just poking around for more ideas.

This is my LLT. Your upper intake is plastic but you may be able to do something similar.
Mine is painted,hydro-dipped then cleared.
I made the coil covers since there are no commercially available covers (for the V-6) that I could find.

Looks great, I may go with coil covers instead of paint.

Spent some more time on it today. All wires sleeved, cleaned up the valve covers and semi-polished them and installed the JacFab spacer. Most people won't notice the difference, but I am very happy with it.

May I ask how did you make the oil breather filter? I have the little airfilter but have been unable to find a good set of instructions- youtube is blocked in my country.

As for answering the question, I took off all the engine covers and left it at that. I feel that it is really busy under the hood still. My BMW looks so much more tidy right from the factory.
