Convertible storage

When storing a convertible is it best to store it with the top up or down?
Also would it be better to store up and not latch it?

Thanks

Why wouldn't you latch it?

Didn't know if it would be better for the top material not to be stretched that last bit when you latch it.

My thought too. I don't latch it. Don't know if that is correct or not.

I had a Cavalier ( i know the material and such are different but), i left the top down for several months.
It was jammed and wouldnt come all the way closed ( latched)
When i got it fixed in the spring there was a good 2 inch gap or more.

My Vote is Up and Latched all winter long !
guess you could say treat your top as if it was a
coupe and help keep out un wanted winter residents ! or is that rodents

Every convertible I have had since 87 has always been stored with the top up and latched and the windows cracked a 1/2 inch. That way the air can flow through the interior and no moisture will accumulate.

Got mine last year in April and only had the top down a few times and stored with it up latched.
Same this year with the windows up and covered.
Heated garage so not worried about critters getting in and making a home.

i would never leave a vert top down more than 2 or 3 days max. before i bought mine, i called Haartz directly and they said no more than 3 days. so, leave the top up, and latched and i would probably clean it good and apply eithe 303 or Ragg top. keep a lint bruch handy too.

Up and latched is never an issue but down causes all kinds of things like sunburn, windburn, rain showers, extreme smiles, etc....

If your worried about moisture in your garage let me suggest this

I keep a few of these in the garage. They are inexpensive and do collect moisture. They also sell different sizes
