Clay barring question
I plan on claying my car sometime this week to get ready for a show this weekend. A couple weeks ago, I swapped my V6 front fascia for an SS one, which had to be repainted.
My original plan (before the fascia swap), was to do a wash and strip using Adam's Shampoo and APC mix. But now I am worried about the freshly painted bumper. I don't think it would be wise to get APC all over that so soon. I am trying to figure out how to effectively clay the rest of the car. My thought is to do an alcohol wipe down, and if this is the best way, what would be the best towels to use, Adams, OTC or otherwise? If it's not the best way, what would be? Thanks. |

you don't want to apply anything to fresh paint. You need to let it cure. Most shops say 60-90 days.

Right that's what I thought. So, the question is, how to clay all but the fresh paint?

Just don't clay bar the front fascia. It was just the front fascia that got painted right?

Theres really no harm in claying or polishing the repainted areas, you just want to avoid waxing and/or sealing them.
As far as the strip wash is concerned... unless you went really aggressive on the ratio of APC:CarWash I don't think theres any concern there either. |

Dylan, what would you consider aggressive?
