Just be aware that a difference in price is sometimes due to the template program that they are purchasing for the Camaro. There are many companies that are selling these templates for installers and they can all differ. Some come in many pieces like 9-10 different cut-outs to do what you are describing above whereas the one the installer used for my car was 6 cut-outs. 3M is the paint film material used for the kit, the kit is then purchased from another company for your specific model of car and they all differ in prices. So just make sure that you discuss with your installer all the factors that go into your choices. But $495 is a great price!

looks better than I thought. I mean you can tell something is different in the paint but its not that noticeable. My only thing is what about that stuff creating rust underneath if its on metal? Also I would think if a rock hits it hard enough your still going to get a chip

It's great stuff, but I hate that you can see the line where it stops and I'm worried about long term dulling or fading. I just can't decide if I want it for what will be a weekend car. |

It looks better than the old black bra and is a great concept. But this stuff is only going to last so long on the edges an fading etc. I mean whats going to happen to the paint underneath whether its plastic or metal. I can see it helping the metal rust, and with either plastic or metal will it block the sun rays so that the paint undearneath it doesnt age with rest of the car. It seems like a great product, i just have reservations. Ive had a few new cars in the past few years including a 06 monte SS and stone chips were never issue. Like I said before something hits it hard enough it aint going to matter. I had 3m on my downhill skiis that did the same thing, and after a year or two it started to peel and fray. And im thinking once the bra does stop stuff your going to have fray marks in it and wear marks. I think i would like to see long term testing first.

From what I read from different sites was that if you have your car out in the sun everyday for several months, it's not going to prevent fading of some sort. I would guess maybe for those mostly sunny States year round, this could be a possible issue, if you like to park out in the sun everytime. I live in the Chicagoland area so and my Camaro will be garage kept and always park underground at work, so for me, the 3M Clear Bra won't be an issue. Oh as in whoever was saying this won't protect you from every ding and every chip, it's not a force-shield! Check out the demo, I saw it somewhere too... it can take some good pellet shots. It's just added protection, of course it won't protect you if a Titan throughs a boulder at it.

After 3000 miles I REALLY wish I would have gotten the clear bra. So much so that I've already contacted a paint shop to touch up some chips in my front bumper and then I got a guy who is going to clear bra my front bumper.
Pics when I do the deed of course.... |

Thanks for those pics above! I too have an IBM SS that i want a clear bra for. You really cant see it that much. To me it is worth the investment tp keep those chips and bugs off! I got a price of $1100 to the front and both mirrors!!!!!! This place uses a different brand than 3M. Sounds like too much money to me.

I paid $1000 for the 3M product on my 2008 Enclave in Annapolis, MD. I found the installer on the 3M site.
