Is $500 for Magnaflows too much?

I had Magnaflow mufflers put in today. The shop charged $500 total. My Flowmasters had a hole in it and I wanted something with less drone but still throaty. IMO the drone is not much better even though they're not as aggressive sounding. Will they get louder in time? Did I overpay?

Hard to say about the price without knowing the part # used.

Might get a little louder over time but probably not anything very noticeable.

The product box is the only place I know of. Can the installer tell you? If not, you could probably figure it out by taking measurements and researching on Magnaflow’s site.

My muffler shop usually charges 100 labor plus the muffler costs, so Id say 500 is a bit much.

Agreed, 500 is a bit steep for muffs and install. My shop is 100 labor and the parts. Sometimes the manufacturers will stamp the part number on the endcaps of the mufflers, either end. My old flows did.

They wanted $200 for a cat delete. So at that point, I figured get done what had to be done. I was getting an extended warranty inspection that day and the Flowmaster was rotten and rattling. BTW, I like my Magnaflows SO much better. The Flowmasters IMO were hollow-sounding garbage.
