Just got CAI Intake in and had a question...

I was checking out the parts as I plan to install this weekend and my stomach sunk when I saw that the intake piping appeared to be dented in...however I wanted to see if maybe this was normal and the design of the pipe and I'm just worrying for no reason?

Definitely not normal. It should be symetrical. Contact the vendor or manufacturer and get it replaced.

I doubt he will make you pay shipping on a damaged product. I am sure you will get that back.

Yup and this weekend was perfect too, girlfriend visiting parents, plenty of time to relax and enjoy it after installed...no point complaining I guess.

I guess bending it back isn't a viable/safe option huh? I'm hoping the manufacturer can send me a new tube and I can send the old one back or throw it away but I doubt it will be that convenient.

Well technically it's most likely UPS's fault. I've dealt with a claim w/ them before (subwoofer and enclosure) and it was a HORRIBLE experience, took me months to get it resolved. I'm praying I dont have to deal with that.

What intake is that? Many of the company's are members here and are stand up guys.
PM them and I'm sure they will send you out a new tube!!!!

CAI Inc. All I heard was good things about the performance of the intake so I'm hoping their customer service matches. I am not sure if this needs to be addressed to the vendor or the manufacturer though. If they send me a new tube with minimal wait I'll be very happy. I dont even mind paying the shipping on something small like that if I had to.

IMO I would see if someone will credit back some $ and you can just straighten it out.. or should say round it out. will be mostly covered by a rubber end I assume.

That is what I would do for ya.It is called customer service.

But on another note....Very easy to bend that back into position.

I'm hoping that piece will be sent to me but if not I may have to consider, I sent a PM to CAI INC since it's something they can address directly as Janetty would have to go to them anyway I'm sure unless he has replacement parts in stock for that unit which I doubt.
