Quick Update:
Firstly I am waiting for the body shop to call me back so they can fix my car (they are prob still waiting on a new door). Until my car gets fixed I will prob hold off on mods till then. Secondly I finally got my garage today!! Wooh. It is a little small but it is better than nothing. I plan on making some shelves in the back and buying some swim noodles and fixing them to the side of the garage where the door will swing open. I also managed to pick up these bad boys Thanks Crit719! I plan on taking off the mesh part and painting it IOM, now I don't have to paint things on top of my stove in my apartment I can use my garage haha. I'll prob end up paining the splash trays black or something (will only use them when I'm not at a show or at the track) |

Time for a little update and some simple "mods"
So as far as fixing my car: A door arrived at the body shop last week but it was damage so a new one had to get sent and it arrived today so my car will be going in on Monday to get fixed. Depending on how well the new door looks painted all determines how fast I get my car back and how much of a headache it will be to have to order new vinyl gills and the driver side hash marks . Now for some slight mods. I removed the speaker on top of the dash because according to this thread link[/URL] it makes the BA system sound better, and I can agree it sounds a lot crisper now. Removing it wasn't too bad, just pop off the cover and undo two bolts then unplug the speaker. Unfortunately when I was removing the cover I managed to break one tab and almost break another guess I'm too strong for my own good? Once the cover is removed this is what the speaker looks like, and I just untightened the two bolts. Next I unplugged the harness and ziptied it to one of the holes where the bolts go to prevent it from flopping around. Then I put the cover back and that was that. Now removing the speaker and the two bolts removed 0.68lbs. Therefore now the BA sounds better and my car is 0.69lbs lighter...that's a win win situation to me haha. The other thing I did which isn't that big of a deal but I think it cleans up the engine bay a little is I covered the brake booster line with my black braided hose cover. Now there is one that is there but it is a rather small piece and I think this looks much better, here are a before and after pic. Before: After: |

Thanks
Nothing like Powder but getting there! Update: So yesterday I decided to finish up and install my rear slotted/drilled rotors and put my HPS pads on all four corners. It ended up being a huge pain. I had the hardest time trying to get both rear rotors off since they were rusted on real good! Eventually though I did manage to get them off half a can of WD40, 2 hours and a lot of taking out my frustration with a hammer . Despite all that though the outcome was worth the frustration. Here is a pic of my rear rotor installed I also decided to switch out my chrome gorilla locks for the black acorn locks to help get rid of the chrome. So here is a final picture, not sure what I am going to do with the wheel hub thing. (sorry pics are a little blurry) Lastly here are the HPS pads (top pad) compared to the stock pads (bottom pad) Not gonna lie it took me a while to figure out how the heck that OEM spreader thing worked haha but I finally figured it out . When finished I turned my car on and started to pull out of my garage to park in one of the parking spots at my apartment complex. I started moving forward I hit the brake pedal and it immediately went to the floor and I wasn't stopping. I started to panic since there was a car in front of me. I let off and hit the brake pedal again and same thing happened so I was like **** I messed something up real bad. I then hit it a third time and boom stopped instantly (not gonna lie came pretty close to hitting that car haha) I think since I spread apart the calibers to put the new pads on it had to take a couple of pumps from the pedal to make everything go back to normal. After the bedding process I can say the car stops a heck of a lot better! I think that is mainly due to the HPS pads as opposed to the slotted/drilled rotors. |

Thanks I appreciate it!
I know I know lol, maybe this winter? Honestly working on any part of the brakes even just painting the calipers is the last thing I wanna do after having such a hard time lol. |
