NASA's Investigative Results of Toyota

As was expected, NASA today delivered their investigative results into the Toyota "unintended acceleration" incidents. As expected, the results came back negative: NO direct cause found.

They found no "Electronic" cause.

Sticky throttle pedals, and floor mat problems confirmed as causes.

Also confirmed, Toyota is a shitbag of a company for hiding throttle complaints for years while the fatalities stacked up.

But in its report, NASA said it is "not realistic" to try to prove Toyota's ETC does not cause unintended acceleration. The report also notes a lack of evidence linking ETC to runaway cars "does not vindicate" Toyota's system.

Unfortunately, EMI problems leave no lasting evidence.
Electronic failures definitely to blame for some accidents, but it's difficult to recognize or document these failures.

This presentation explains how a certain "latch-up" could cause UA.

BTW, selective journalism is awesome.

Disappointing this got published the way it did in some cases...If you say it enough times the right way...it becomes true.

The first sentence of the article...

Quote:
Unintended acceleration in Toyota Motor Corp. vehicles was rooted in mechanical flaws rather than electronic defects, a U.S. investigation found.
A cause was found.

Perhaps. But, it's obvious they don't have real work to do. Perhaps, pink slips are needed.
