modding ss vs 5.0

So me and my neighbor are having a mod war! well not really we both just like hp and spending money on car parts lol. So in doing so i have noticed a few things and i thought i would share!
Ok so we both have alot of the same mods on our cars and i thought i would share the big price difference in modding these two beasts! First off im not saying one is cheaper to mod vs the other im just showing what me and him noticed! Also both cars are awesome so no ford bashing!
1. We both have cai mine from cold air inductions his JLT both around 300.
2. We both have cat back exhausts mine solo his magnaflow his is a little higher
3. I installed a mast motorsports stage 2 cam cam price 400 ish or so sorry forgot the actuall price but i got it on sale when i bought it. I bought the cam and install and installed headers and dyno tune for 2800. He hears the cam and 2 weeks later is ordering comp cams for his. Here is a big price difference b/c he has dual overhead cams so he needs 4 comp cams price 1600 bucks. Having a shop install 2000 is the price he got quoted don't know final price yet. Remote tune 600.
4. We both have bought aftermarket wheels and wider tires about equal there.
5. We both have headers me i went with mbs and have had great luck 6 months no problems and he went kooks. 299vs 900.
6. He has the 302 boss intake which they say is a must mod for the 5.0's but cost over 600 bucks! I chose not to go with the F.A.S.T. intake b/c of the minimal hp gains.
End result is i ended with 482rwhp and we are waiting for his dyno results after the cam install is finished. We ran them before his cams and it was a car link and a half difference! ( pretty sure thats the other reason he bought cams lol) But the shop he bought everything from says with his mods he should put down 480-490 rwhp. So in the end i would defiantly say if your going for a cammed car the camaro is the much cheaper one to do it in lol. All and all both cars are sweet and i can't wait to run him again!! He is an automatic im a manual so I think he will still need a good tune to win b/c i have the tire advantage by far! lol. ANYWAYS I LOVE MY NEIGHBORHOOD ALL KINDS OF MUSCLE CARS LOL

The bottom line is, when you go away from stock and start modding to beat someone, whoever has a higher credit card limit will win.

His first tune he got was horrible! The tac would bounce until he let off the gas to shift. Mad it so slow! Got that fixed tho.

If the engine is hitting the rev limiter, thats the driver, not the tune. He needs to learn to shift faster or just when to shift.

That is unless you mean something else by the tachometer bouncing?

Yeah that would be a shitty tune then. Who tunes and doesn't move the rev limiter? Lol

I have no idea? Not only that who sets a tune where u let off the gas to shift? That would serve no purpose to have an auto lol

Yeah that's just kinda silly. Maybe they did it to save the trans because they disabled torque management? I don't know.

I'm guessing there's very little difference between the two cars, similarly modded or bone stock. I love having my Camaro, but wouldn't mind the 5.0 either.
