A question about Stripes?
I just looked up my vin number from the site that is on the forum and I ordered white rally stripes for my Camaro but I figured they would be factory installed already on the car at delivery. So I look up my vin number and when I look at the order that comes up it says LPO White Stripe Package ( dealer installed) :(
I'm kind of upset if they really do have to be installed by the dealer!!!!!!!!! Does anyone know anything about how the stripes are applied on the cars? I have heard alot of people on here say that the White Rallys are factory installed but according to this they aren't. |

That's weird! They -should- be factory installed.

Why is it that nobody wants stripes if a dealer has to install them? My dealership puts them on flawlessly (10 to date). Are there places out there really that bad?

It doesn't really matter. The stripes don't get installed at the factory anyway... the cars get sent to a 3rd-party stripe place, and they put them on, send the car back to the factory for shipping. It's really no different than getting them installed at your dealer. Dealer will most likely contact a 3rd-party company to have them professionally installed. You'll be fine

I hope that I still get my car with stripes intact this week still instead of having to wait another week for stripes to be put on!

Stripes shouldn't take any more than 3 hours to be installed (dealer). I'm not sure how lond it takes if they come installed.

Most dealers use a local graphics company for all vehicle stripes / graphics / price stickers etc.
99% chance your stripes are being installed at the dealership by the local sign shop. |

I can see my dealer calling me saying your car didn't have stripes on it so we sent it back to Canada for stripes LOL.
I'm just joking i'm sure this stripe situation will get worked out hopefully. |

I'm on my 4th set of stripes.
The dealer hired a 3rd party to put the stripes on. They screwed up on two sets and the dealer said the 3rd party would pay for new stripes. The 3rd set went on great but don't match the rear stripe color. The 3rd party is using 3m stripes for $139 a set instead of GM stripes at $475 a set. Now I'm waiting AGAIN for a new set of GM stripes to be installed AGAIN. What a mess.
Pretty good racket ...make $350 on parts and make $150 to install them in less than 2 hrs. |

if the stripes are a different color have the 3rd party shop fix it. if it took them 4 tries to install, they're either not very good at what they do or they had a new employee who's just learning install them. either way.. not good. I would ask for a different shop to install them. |
