I have found that some dealerships are more mod friendly than others.. case in point my local ford dealership replace a faulty throttle position sensor even though my Zex N20 kit was installed in plain site and was actually connect to the sensor! LOL

Scrming,
Looks like the blue and white wires were the ones. Simple question: Does it matter which one goes to which side of the sensor? I'm wondering if I can do this myself. |

Good job , yep that adds up 5 degrees and a gain of 3.5ish mph . I heard that 1* of timing = 7hp , and looks like a gain of about 30-40ish HP (per trap mph)

oops... sorry, it's the TAN and BLUE wires. and no it doesn't matter on the sensor as long as you use those two...

A local tuner told me the magic # is 88* any higher and the ecu pulls timing on a V8 , guess it about the same for the V6 .
I am going by that old rule 10 hp=1mph , so i curious what you find .

Hey SCRMING, thanks for the post and pics!
Kind of curious how you decided to put the IAT where you did... How do you think it would work putting the IAT in the snorkel...wouldn't that be the coolest air? Really don't know much about how this works, I was just looking at the pictures and trying to figure out the logic. Also, what is this resonator I've heard mentioned? i don't see anything that looks like an exhaust resonator or anything in there. Thanks again for all you do for the community! |

We talked about putting it in the snorkel... we thought it might possibly disrupt the air flow a bit to much... so we decided to try the upper corner... the sensor is out of the way and that corner was one of the cooler places... Also, it's a pretty easy place to put it it... LOL! There was no big scientific study to determine that corner... As for the resonator... it's the big ugly appendage on he left side of the air intake tube right before the throttle body... it's job is to cut down the intake noise, which is does rather well.. but it has to be creating a lot of turbulence which is not good for performance! Part II is getting rid of it! LOL
