VMAX ported throttle body worth it?

I was looking into the VMAX Ice Olator and stumbled upon the VMAX ported throttle body and am looking for opinions on it. Is it worth the money? What kind of gains can I get if any? A lot of the sites I've been on require a core charge, why? Anyone have a dealer they recommend?

It's the cheapest performance mod you can make. You will get noticeable torque increases up to where your car now lags. Have you stomped on the gas and the car just sat there for a few seconds? Say goodbye to that lag, and hello to instant response.

A core charge is required in case you forget to return your core, since GM wants $150 or more for a new one that then gets machined out by VMAX.

A few of the dealers on here offer free shipping, get it from one of them.

For the v6 I think the best mod and bang for the buck is VMAX - CNC Ported Throttle Body. It was easy to install and big difference it throttle response I got mine at Jdpmotorsports

IMHO, I'd say if you have other mods, it probably isn't worth it. I did not notice any difference when I added mine, but, I did already have a Vararam, mace insulator, and the Trifecta tune. I can't feel anything different, but if it's your only mod, you may could tell a difference.

The only things I've done are the MRT 1 exhaust and K&N Aircharger CAI.

As the others said, they are a great bang for the buck and definitely worth the money. It's not a huge top end mod, but it will give you great "tip in" throttle response and a good low range hp and tq gain. Couple that with the ICEolator and an intake system for a gain you can really feel!

Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.

I have both the throttle body and the Iceolator. I installed the TB about 1 1/2 years ago and noticed very little difference from stock. I installed the Iceolator last weekend and the power and torque gains are awesome, really brings the car to life. If you are going to do one or the other I would do to the Iceolator first. In my opinion that is the BEST bang for your buck.

Exactly,
What make the ICE-olator help so much is it separates the manifold from the top of the engine 3/8" to reduce heat soak.

On the LLTs really both those mods should be installed at the same time to working together for the best results.

Gains? No gains really...at least in hp. It won't make your dyno runs or quarter mile times any faster....as even said by vendors on here. They say it helps with throttle response and lag....but who cares if it doesn't make your car any faster? IMO it doesn't make much of a difference at all. At least not as much of a difference to justify paying for it. Some people actually swear that it's a scam.

With my v6, the ported throttle body took away Most of the lag but not all of the lag.

If I had it to do again, I'd probably spend the money I spent on the TB on something else. Just don't think it's worth the price. Ice-Olator yes, TB no.
