Honestly, What V6 Mod did you FEEL a REAL Difference With?
I've been around the block in a few cars in my life. And I'm not a full blown gear head by any stretch, but I have never really and truly noticed a difference with 99% of these products. Things such as, 'bolt-on's', (unless we're talking cams, pistons or superchargers and the like) chips, tunes, "Split Fire" (and other snake oil) spark plugs, fuel additives, CAI's, Flowmaster-type mufflers, etc, etc. I wanted badly to feel it but was generally let down.
I'm not talking tear-down and build threads that encompass 6 months and 16 pages. Has anyone found that magic power generator for under $500.00? $1,000.00? |

For a 2012 you'd be better off asking in the LFX section. But the LFX can only get intakes, exhausts and throttle bodies modded for now

I did my ported throttle body & black Iceolator at the same time & it was truly an OMG difference. Especially after I drove it around a while & my car "learned" it.

Cold Air Intake from CAI Inc made an immediate difference in immediately feeling more torque and the sound of the exhaust. This might be the first thing everyone should do

Yep the CAI inc was pretty good too. Much more responsive. I would for sure want it before the ported throttle body & Black Iceolator but the butt dyno for the latter two was MUCH more impressive. IMHO

Aftermarket cold air intake Cold Air Inductions CAI Intake, + VMAX CNC Spiral Ported Throttle Body= best bag for the buck for the LFX around.

Sorry, posted in the wrong section. But my question would have worked for the LFX-ers too. I'll admit, I'll not up on the very latest gadgetry but just didn't get much bang for my buck in the past. So little in fact that I was/am reluctant to mod again.
I wasn't aware that the LLT engine was not a 323HP version too. Did I read that somewhere here? Seems like GM did some nice modding themselves. In my old 'wisdom', I think I prefer them making all the mistakes first! Anyone see the YouTube of the two Brits dyno-ing different CAI's? Seemed legit...and pretty convincing. |

LLT is 312 HP
LFX is 323 HP. The new LFX engine from GM has some nice changes. The heads have a built in exhaust manifold. There are threads that discuss all the improvements with this engine.

Both of the V6s respond very well to induction upgrades. Do an intake, scoop, and ported throttle body package on your LFX and you will notice it.

X1000, these 2 alone for around $500 will be the biggest and most noticeable! With these 2 you should pickup a honest 20 to 25 HP!
