ToddsZL1 First race day!
Sat. Oct. 20 finally hit that 1500 mile mark and Sunday I hit the track. I'm not a race car driver by any means, but until you take these cars to a track you have no idea how good this car really is. Their was 79 cars at this event, Z06 Corvette's, 350ZZZ's, Older Camaro's, Subura's, Miata's and evan some Mustangs.
My first run of the day was 77 sec. took it easy just to get a feel for the track, by the end of the morning runs I was running in the mid 68's. Mostly in PTM mode 3, As you can see in the photos the track was very tight with elavation changes. Started out with about 28 pounds in the tires, after 6 runs tire pressure went about 35 and I wass getting faster, the only problem I experenced was coming out of the corner if I would get a little loose, when I would get back into the gas their would be just a little delay in power. Any Ideas why? The after noon I got much faster, figured out that you just can't smash the thottle on exit because the power is unblievable. Best run of the day was 65.435 I was only 2 sec. slower than the Z06 and he has had years of track time. For the day I ended up 29th out of 79 cars so I was happy with that evan beat all the mustangs there except one which was a race only car not street legal. My wife and son rode along on a couple of the laps, they too were a liitle scared at first but had fun, My wife asked if this was going to be the last time racing , and my answer was don't think so had way to much fun!!!!! |

Cool... sounds like fun!
Were there any 5th gen SS Camaros there? If so, how did they do?

Why did you wait 1500 miles?? Would have been good to seat the rings properly to hit the track the first few haundred miles before the cylinder walls glazed over.
Fun car anyway though and you did awesome!!
