I think the 1LE got the most out of the refresh; It has a really sharp and aggressive look, at both the front and the rear of the car. IMO the ZL1 benefitted from the refresh as well. The rear of the car looks more aggressive; I especially like how the lower skirts of the rear of the ZL1 integrates with the new rear.

2014 Changes
I hate to be a debbie downer but I think the 2014 is a mixed bag of some cool but mostly crappy.
1) The rear end is very generic looking taking away from the camaro classic look. As stated in one of the Youtube reviews of the Z28 "the rear end looks like a 2001 Honda Prelude". Couldn't agree more. 2) The front fascia and grill make the car look like its squinting. I think the wider grill makes the car look more classically aggressive. 3) Is it a SS or a ZL1? You can option your SS with ZL1 parts such as the rear spoiler, hood extractor, and rims. I'm a fan of keeping the special line exclusive and unique and not having to look for a badge just to tell the SS and ZL1 apart. Ford has done a fairly good job at keeping the Shelby and Boss apart from the various GT lines. Yea, I understand that some people want these options but to me it looks like Chevrolet just wants to make an extra dime at the expense of the ZL1. 4) I don't think the new 5 spoke silver rims compliment the car as much as the squared 5 spoke rims did (I know their still an option though). The split 5 spoke looks good, but again, its the ZL1 rim. I predict this refresh will show a dip in sales and will have people either waiting for the next generation or searching for a 2010-2012. I have a 2010 and would not trade it for a brand new 2014 even if it was given to me. All of my gripes are with the exterior of the 2014, I like the interior and all of the performance upgrades they have been coming out with since 2010. |

This looks good. And I actually really dislike the 2014's (mainly just from the back).

In your own words ( agree, the low end torque sucks on this car, feels like turbo lag. I have a V8, I shouldnt have to take this thing over 4k to make it pull. I have an intake, tune, and exhaust and it will not.) My advice ( Go and find a blue pill for that Fuel Anaemic SS of yours first, it may help you giving those 400 horses a better job than watching GT Mustang rear lights If I was in your place spending all that money, I will be catching a Rear Light GT Mustang Phobia by now Last edited by Cyber Gray; 08-13-2013 at 01:16 PM. |
