YES - 2016 Camaro will get either Android auto and Apple Carplay

http://www.autoblog.com/2015/05/27/a...lay-chevrolet/

For Chevrolet, the systems will be available on select 2016 iterations of the Cruze, Camaro, Volt, Spark and Malibu as early as this summer. They're available on all trim levels, but they only work with the company's MyLink infotainment package installed in the cars, and the first to hit showrooms will only work on the seven-inch touchscreen models.

UPDATED:
It wasn't clear to me at first but Chevy will MyLink will work with BOTH Android and Apple. You don't have to pick one over the other.

http://www.computerworld.com/article...-vehicles.html

Either application is simple to use in a compatible 2016 Chevrolet vehicle, GM said. A "Projection" icon on the MyLink screen is visible when a phone is not connected, then changes to indicate either CarPlay or Android Auto (whichever is applicable) when a compatible phone is connected via USB. Android Auto requires a phone running the Android Lollipop 5.0 operating system or above, while Apple CarPlay requires an iPhone 5 or later.

According to Jalopnik, there are two systems - a 7" and 8", and Camaro will get both. That's good news if true that the base system will still have a 7" screen.

Interesting though that the 7" works fine with Android but the 8" is having issues. Hopefully they get the issues with the 8" and Android figured out soon enough.

Two MyLink systems will be offered, with the 7-inch version ready for both iPhone and Android users, and capable of running both systems. That system is coming to the new Malibu, along with the Cruze, Camaro, Silverado, and Spark.

The 8-inch system will be available on the Cruze, Malibu, Impala, Camaro, Corvette, Colorado, Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, and the new Volt. However, that system will only be capable of running Apple CarPlay “at the beginning of the 2016 model year” with Android Auto functionality coming later in the year because of, we’re told, “integration issues.”

Thank God. They are finally surrendering to phone SW developers. Yes, just give me a screen with big icons to project from whatever phone I want. This is excellent news for consumers.

...now if we can just uncouple GM from Bose, all will be well in the world.

Just get on youtube and watch some vids. Andriod Auto and Carplay's operating system looks the same in whatever headunit its being used on. For instance Im using a pioneer nex head unit with Carplay in my 2000 SS, when I plug my iphone into the 2016 Camaro Carplay will look exactly the same. Same with Android.
