Z28 wheels
I've seen a number of ZL1 owners saying they wanted a set of the Z28 wheels on their car. I think the wheels look awesome and the weight savings is a definite plus. However, I think the wheels could look funny on a ZL1, because when I saw a closeup of the wheels, it looks like they say "Z28" on them, much like the silver ZL1 wheels say "ZL1" and the blacks ones say "Camaro".

I wanted a set until I saw that. You are correct they do say Z28 and they are also only 19" rims, oh well.

Yup, they are 19s....they're EXCEPTIONALLY light-weight...which means $$$$....and they say "Z/28". They'd fit....the Carbon Ceramic brakes use similar front calipers as the ZL1...but they're definitely different, and more expensive.

Are they the same calipers that are on the new Cadillacs?

I believe they're 6-piston...but that's about it. The hardware is all very similar to what's used on the Carbon Brakes on Corvettes.

Also, 19" tires aren't that expensive anymore. Still over priced. But they're coming down. |

if they are 42lbs lighter I could give a crap if they say Z28 on them. Pilot SS are cheaper for 19's than they are 20's.
Now who knows they may be spendy but I am sure I could get a decent chunck of change for the ZL1 wheels. people discount undsrung wieght. the ligher rotors and lighter well are some of that 3 seconds a lap. Now if the 42 lbs is bs then then I don't know what I think.

Really depends on $, I am not a fan of the design, might look better polished, chromed, painetd, etc. Also, is most of the weight loss in the wheel or the tire, or both. It is a new tire also

I would really like to have the wheels/rims. I like the way they look and the less weight thing is a bonus. 19's look pretty good on the car even better with a drop of an 1''or so IMO. I have been hunting for a set in the aftermarket but nothing is really close.

The black 10 spoke 20" wheels that come on the ZL1 and 1LE have the word Camaro embedded on the inside lip.
