Front Plate
I HATE the way a front plate looks and here in Texas your required to have it(so the ____ have an excuse to pull you over if they want). I dont have a front plate on any of the vehicles that I drive and REFUSE to have one on the Camaro. The dealer said they are required to install the front bracket in order to inspect it, BUT I know that its not required for inspection because I am also a licenced inspector PLUS it doesnt make any scense because if that were the case then you would have to have licence plates on the car, wich you dont when you buy a new car because you have to wait for them to be made. Anyway, to my question. How is the front plate bracket put on the car? Is it bolted with holes drilled through the bumper? One guy at the dealer said that they would probably do it like the vette where it would stick/snap on. Anybody know for sure yet?

I'm not sure how dealers are addressing front liscense plates, and I agree with you, they're an eye sore.
That being said, you can look for "hideaway" mounting plates such as those used by Corvette owners. I've found them via the internet. (And out of respect for one of our respected Mods., as well as cops everywhere, I removed your terminology. ) |

I cannot bear the thought of my dealer, or anyone for that matter, drilling holes into my car! My dealer just warned me that it is required but he can leave them off if I so desired. I'll just leave them at home untill I get a warning I guess, but a good number of people in my area don't have front plates and don't have a problem unless they are making an officer mad enough for him/her to look for some reason to pull them over.

I told my dealer to leave them off. They didn't have a problem with it.

I live in MD where the front license plate is required by law too. I hate the way it looks on any car too, and don't have one on my mustang currently (I have gotten a lot of tickets for it). I told my dealer to not install the front plate and they said they wouldn't. Maybe just tell your dealer that since they are only temp tags anyways, just leave the temp tag on the dashboard, and you will install the front plate holder later, which of course you won't actually install.

i feel your pain guys up there in the states.. that plate just break the car. it scraps the front end completly why they just give you some kind of a decal that you affix to your windshield??? in the province of Quebec we don't have license plates up front. in some other canadian province they have it like the pics above in ontario.. it's awful.

I've driven my Corvette without a front plate in Texas for 8 years with nary a look from the cops. I suspect its because they appreciate the look as well!

I like it. But it requires to make holes on the underside of the bumper. |

But, does it require holes in the front facsia itself? I.E. on part of the car that would be visible if the plate was not there.
