The Auto (L99) Shifter
Before you continue reading, I should warn you in advance that this question may be absurd... if so, sorry about that
So we've seen numerous pics of the auto shifter, but they are all from behind... from the driver's view... and from what I've seen, I just can not figure out where the freaking "button" is! It has been driving me crazy for months! Is it on the front? Is it hidden on the side and the leather is wrapped over it? Or (I highly doubt this one, but...) do you not even need to press in a button to move it? Or does anyone have any pics of this?? Thanks in advance! |

Played with one last night actually. I just pushed on it as I pulled it into drive and that's all it took.

So it's a button? On the front/lower part of the "ball" it looks like?

Going by the picture above, I'm guessing it's a trigger on the front of the shifter, a very well hidden trigger.

That's hardly absurd. In fact, I was wondering the same thing earlier today.

That is actually a good question. When I sat in it, I didint really fiddle with the gear lever. I still cant see the button clearly in the pic.
