Talking MGW Shifter Installed "Pics" 2012 LFX V6

So year i ordered a MGW shifter after a long battle between which shifter to get hurst or other brands, i went for MGW because its the whole assembly, 6 - 7 HRs and cut up hands later i got it on, and took it for a spin, BIG Difference! only problem its hard to get it into reverse i dont know why.. i installed it correct with everything, just very hard to get into reverse , need to pull alot of wrist strength into it, kind of annoying, but other than that its great!

This is my 2012 2LT/RS LFX V6, The stock shifter was a bit different than the 2010 - 2011 camaro models.

What is different about the 2012 stock shifter compared to the 2010 and 11?

Nice job, how hard was the modification. Was it as hard or easy as you thought?

look at the picture with stock shifter removed , it has springs in it which prevent the shifter from coming out, so i had to undo the entire assembly at top and remove the boot which kinda struggled with because it was some what glued in mine onto metal piece, and then bend the wire springs what ever you call em and push the shifter down.

It was, Easy/Medium/Hard

Starts off easy, gets semi difficult need 2 people, then hard removing 2 damn clips and i cut up my fingers so many times on the head shield >.< and had sore shoulders back, and right arm, Also like i posted above the shifter is tough to get into reverse gear for some odd reason, but i hope it will wear in and start being easy to use, also i hear a small wistle high tone when i drive almost like a high pitch drone, not sure whats causing it. But will check for leaks or something this week.

Those are the centering springs. Everything looks the same as my 2011...

Looks good!

Yep the LLT's all have them. It was a pita getting around those springs when I put my Barton shifter in!
