SLP Axle-back Exhaust
Hello folks,
I have come across many exhaust kits and I am not looking for a full cat-back exhaust since most of the good ones do not fit into my budget. I don't care if I gain +3 HP or +10HP after the install. I am looking for something that sounds more like "American muscle" less "Japanese" type. So far I only have 1 on my list that I might purchase. It is the SLP Loudmouth I axle-back exhaust. I was wondering if any one has any comments about it. Also, in the past I have heard from people that most after market exhausts do cause damage to the motor. I am sure in some cases they do while in others they don't and it might be the owner who didn't take care of the vehicle properly. Any comments? |

It's a killer exhaust note, pretty much muffler delete. It is loud but tame enough. The LM II is good as well, but not loud enough for me.

I had a LM1 first and now have LM2
I can tell you the LM1 sounded way better on my car.

lol i think all of those guys had v8's. word of advice dont take exhaust tips from V8 guys, cause what sounds good on v8's can very easily sound terrible on the v6. LoudMouth 1 is a muffler delete, and at idle it will sound awesome, but as your RPM's start to climb it gets louder and raspier, and raspy is not an american muscle sound LOL. not sure about the loud mouth 2 cause it is an actual muffler, would be a better bet then the 1.

Screaming is right on here. These cars need a muffler of some kind to sound great at idle or full out.

Ok so I have read many posts about v6 exhaust setups and I was wondering which of the following is a good choice?
1) Replace stock mufflers with mrt v2. 2) Replace w/ resonated x pipe and add mrt v2. 3) Resonated x pipe followed by straight pipes. |

I love my loudmouth 1 and I wouldn't go back. I also have really powerful subs so I dont hear the drone much.

I went ahead with mrt v2 mufflers. It is pricey but I'm sure quality comes with it. I will post some pics or maybe a video after completing the install.
