Carbon fiber vinyl engine cover

I am looking into decorating my engine cover.... How does this sound... Put carbon fiber vinyl on the sides and paint the center white and get some 45th emblems to put on the white? Will the vinyl stay there or burn off? I can't afford hydro dipping it

Not a bad idea.. white or maybe red? I ordered the 45th emblem with plans to put it on the cover. In addition, was thinking of pin striping the groves in the center... let us know what you do.

The 3D Carbon Fiber Wrap we offer is good to 194 F. I would not think the cover would get that hot, but have not measured one as of yet.

It won't melt or burn. Here's what I did. Its been on for a little under a year now and I haven't had any problems with peeling or melting.

i'm also curious, if you did wrap that into where you put the oil area, how did you do it so nicely?? vinyl is hard to wrap around corners and bends and curves

DiNoc was not designed as a vehicle wrap, it is an architectural finish.

You kill the look and texture of the material. Use it if you want the dry carbon look. If you are looking for a heavy gel coat look, this is not the best option.

I would be leery of most of what you find on ebay. The number of poor quality Chinese vinyl is astonishing...

All i did for the oil area was wrapped over it and cut an X in the middle. Then I pushed the corners down into the circle and cut the vinyl about an inch down so the cap would cover the part that wasn't wrapped.

I tired clear coating a piece before I did it and it made the pattern almost go away. It's like the clear filled in the texture and it looked almost like a black gloss piece of vinyl.
