Modding an SLP ZL car

Calling on all SLP car owners... Have any of you modded your SLP ZL? Did it work ok with your tune? Any worries on warranty issues? I have a rotofab cold air intake and it's on the car now. It goes next week to SLP for the full package, but they are going to remove my rotofab to put the stock box back on with the Blackwing tube and high flow drop in filter. I tried to convince them to leave on the rotofab, but no luck. In a way it makes sense that they can't since it's GM, but then part of me thinks, it's just an intake tune it with it. Anywho... Has anyone changed out their intake on their ZL? Did it run good? better? Worse?

Thanks,

Luke

It will probably run about the same. But intakes are so easy to change out its an easy switch back and forth if you need warranty work.

MileMan402 - Thanks for the response. Yeah, I was thinking along those lines too. The only thing that made me double guess myself was the fact that I'd be swapping out intakes after a performance tune was done on the car.

Any SLP owners on here swap out their intakes without a new tune?

This Can Be serious, Never Change an Air Intake system on a supercharged Car without Custom Tuning or you could Fail the engine.

When custom Tuned it is as reliable as the Stock air box and it's tune but with More Power On Tap.

I offer these Services if you want to run your Rotofab, it is a Real Nice addition to any supercharger and I have Tuning For it and your supercharger.

Ted.

Thanks for the info Ted. However voiding the SLP 5 year warranty would be a bummer.

Skip the Warranty and Have some fun, These cars have an Incredible Track Record of Reliability even at Staggering Power levels.

Warrantees are for Camry owners.

I re-tuned an SLP ZL575 for a local guy...we were not impressed with the way the car ran, and when we saw what it did for air/fuel on the wideband on the dyno, we were even less impressed...we made a LOT of progress on the dyno and made the car run a LOT nicer...I'd say there's still more left to do, but we did a lot different in the tune. I guess what we did voided his warranty from SLP, but in my opinion we made it run safer AND better...AND made a lot more power.

MikeOD - thanks for the post. I like hearing different viewpoints. I've got a dyno setup for when I take delivery again. It'll be interesting to see if I get the same readouts or even drive feel. I'll be honest, I'm hoping not, but will share with everyone the results.
