Click the link from post #6. It's a good read with good pictures.

If that's the case, how do you tighten the lugs when putting on the adaptor without the hub spinning--at least on the front? What kind of lugs would you get for the adaptor so they are small enough to fit the spare over?

Any info??

Damn, is that what all the SS calipers after the early 2010's look like?! I'm no engineer or brake expert by a long shot but what the hell are those things supposed to be and do?

OK, sounds like roller skate calipers require 2.5" and weighted calipers can use 1.75"?

They're supposed to reduce brake squeal, but I can't tell you if they work because my car (built 3/11) doesn't have them.

How do they do this? I have them, and I still have squeal at times, annoying and embarassing on my '11. Do they need to be lubricated in some way?

I appreciate anyone's input on this. It is one truly problematic part of such an amazing vehicle.

Thanks,

Jason

You Can Order a a spare from GM - TI55/70R18

Get a jack and lug nut wrench and you are set. My spare fits right over the battery with no problems.

You just chose any of the 5x 120 models. It also asks you if your vehicle has lug bolts, does what do you check here? And would the 1.8 inch thick work if you do not have the roller skates? Do you have a part number for the one you ordered.

They don't work. My brakes are quiet even after I cut my weights off.

Contact Joe McCarthy at dumars14892@yahoo.com

I know he had kits, the 18" rim, with tire mounted on it (donut) the jack, lug wrench and spacer for $500. It fits snug in the tire compartment because I have it and you cant tell its even there if you open the trunk. Gotta remove the compressor and gunk box though. And Im away from home, Cant take a pic of it til next weekend when I go pick it up for easter holidays.

Will the rear tire and rim from an SS fit in the trunk?
