my friends think i am nuts.....

bought a 2014 yellow 1ss in july. loved it, but when I saw the 20% sale and looked at the equity in my car I decided to make the move. upgraded to 2014 red 2ss rs manual. here is the crazy part, I cannot drive stick. going to pay a driving school $50 for a 1 hour class to learn on their car so I don't fry the clutch in mine. friends think I am nuts but I just think I will be learning to drive a stick!!!!

these are the easiest clutches ever, i learned on a 70 chevelle and my 67 is a stick, huge difference between man clutch and hyd. and have to know, what kind of equity could a 14 1ss have, because that is what mine is? just asking

OP, those cars are so easy to shift, frankly, just go to a parking lot and play with it, you will be ok, take a another person with you who knows a stick.

when i was shopping for a camaro in 2013, i test drove a 2SS manual. i was concerned as i hadnt driven a stick in over 17 years, my ex wifes Ford Escort GT.
well, i got in that car and it shifted so smooth i couldnt believe it. 100% easier thatn that Escort ever did shift.

i was blown away at how smooth and easy it was. i still went with an auto in 2LT form, but i wanted to see what the SS drove like. i was impressed but dollars dictated i stick to a v6. but good luck! you will do fine!!!

Hope you enjoy the upgrade, it is nice to have all of the 2SS features, and of course the RS stuff rocks. Have fun and be safe!

It won't take you long to learn the stick and once you do you will not want to go back to automatic. I say the 50 bucks is worth it more so just to stall on someone else's car. Good luck!

Wow!! Congrats.... I bought a 2014 Camaro 1LT in July 2014 then 4 months later I order from factory...2015 RS Camaro 2LT with sunroof, performance exhaust and body colored ground effects. Good for you!!! And if anyone says you are crazy--- they are jealous!! (I traded in the 2014 by the way so no I don't have 2 cars)

Congrats! Its not hard to learn to drive a manual. Many years ago an old girlfriend had an Isuzu Impulse with a 5 spd so I got a few pointers from her and picked it up in no time. Ive had several manual vehicles since including a 94 Formula 6 spd that was blast to drive. Good luck!

I dont think you are crazy. If I wasnt on a married college student budget I would have gone with a 2SS/RS. But the extra $10,000-$12,000 for the exact one I wanted I just could not justify right now! Enjoy!

How's he going to get to the parking lot? Maybe the dealer will let him learn in their lot!
