No need to fuss about the front spoiler clearance. The spoiler and everything under the Z/28 are self clearanceing.

One thing for sure is the car will still be functional on the road. Even the awesomest track car to date, the Z06 could be driven around town without tooo much difficulty.
But also keep in mind the Volt has 2 front valence/spoilers available (or so I'm told by a guy I work with who is ranked in the top 100 nationally for FE on the Volt website). One for FE and one for people with driveways. LOL

I like the way the current Mustang looks ten times better than something like this. The guesses on the powertrains are interesting. I would never pay more for a turbo 4 over a six cylinder. As long as the Camaro stays American with it's styling we have nothing to worry about in the sales race if this is what we're up against. I know this is just a rendering but most of them seem to look euro like this one.

I CANT take it anymore!! I have been keeping a dark secret from the house and it is driving me madd, madd I tell ya!!
In high school we were the McMain Mustangs... and I liked the mascot. :-O Can the house find it in its heart to forgive me? I searched and searched for a school with a Camaro as the mascot but I couldn't find any, honest. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2 |

I predict that the new Mustang will be something to recon with. But that isn't really a bold prediction or anything. Styling aside we know they are getting an IRS. That alone puts the car in another level for ride and handling. If as rumored they get any weight out of it and maintain current performance it will only make the car that much better.
Ford is doing real well with the Fusion right now and the only real dog in the lineup would be the Flex and the Taurus. So they are on a moderate roll and I expect the Mustang will continue. Styling is another story. Mustang looks ok today and I only wonder if they try that "now on everything including the Fiesta Aston Martin front end design". That would be too much to take I think. I'm pretty sure that the car won't be as small as the one article is predicting. I checked and those are seriously Fiesta dimensions. The car goes from a 4 Series competitor down to a 2 (assuming BMW also renames the 1 Series coupe). And I frankly don't see that happening with the Mustang. A car in this segment needs presence and that is what the Camaro has in spades. They could be shortening the car a bunch and maintaining the wheelbase without impacting the cabin space and they could take off 3.25 inches per side by simply tightening everything around the wheels. So those rumored numbers are interesting, but I would also like to see what happens to the wheelbase and track. At some point compressing a car like that restricts how much tire you can put on the car and what size wheels. Now they could be using aluminum in some more body panels. Rumors are of Ford using a lot of it in the next F150 so if they have a volume deal on the commodity, it's possible they will used some on the Mustang. But that will drive costs up up and up. There is a reason why you don't see aluminum doors and fender in mid size cars and it's simply the cost. I'm interested to see where they are going and like everything else we'll have to wait for the NAIAS in January from what it sounds like.

So is it just me or do the threads that have, "with a CAI, Headers, Cam and exhaust I beat an Audi R8 with my SS".........................."with the 4.2L V8" rub me the wrong way?
I'm avoiding posting in there as it would just seem mean and stir things up. Stock to stock boys. Stock to stock. Any other comparison is pointless. It would be no different than if I put the pulley on my S4 with a recalibration and beat your stock SS (and it would ) and told you how great my car was. Camaro is an awesome car. Why do some have to beat a supercar with a 6 figure price tag to feel better about it.

Number 3, with all the chatter 'bout IRS and a 180-degree crank in a ford-ified 5.0 makin' 500+ n/a ponypower in a lighter/svelter package, this may be a pony that challenges some Prancing Horses...in deed AND especially in SOUND!

Just returned from my 12th-of-19 Woodward Dream Cruise(s). It was great to meet Scott and Al and some of the BBOMG gang at the Heritage Center after Friday's tour. And having lunch with Pedders Pete at the local Religious Order Diner on Friday was fun, too. Thanks Pete. I hope your religious experience was long-lasting...
For those in the HouZe who have never stroked this event off your personal Bucket List (and it needs to be on everyone's List!!!), consider attending at your very first opportunity. You will NEVER forget it! And that, my friendZ, is a solemn promise... |
