Angry Thump when i shift...

I have a 99 camaro V6 5-speed and when i shift into 2nd and 3rd it makes a loud thump. my gear shift also lifts up like everytime it gets to about 3000 rpm it raises and drops thus the loud thud. Any clue whats going on?

Could be the transmission mounts or tunnel brace, though I'd bet on the former. The rubber degrades pretty easily on these cars so I wouldn't be surprised. A simple swap for polyurethane mounts should fix it once it's confirmed at a shop.

Other problem (TB) was what I ran into.. lost the bolts that mount it to the transmission housing going down the road. Dunno how..

If you have a set of jack stands, a floor jack and a simple set of tools, the cost is nothing. It will take about 30-45 minutes start to finish. The mount itself, from summit racing, is 20-25 dollars depending which one you get.
