My neighbor thinks I'm crazy

I moved into a new home in January- 9 months ago. I have 2 cars a 2009 honda fit and a 2011 ss. I drive my honda everyday.. It has a huge crack in the windsheild rock chips all on the hood a dent on the door. She is my road warrior 150,000 miles with out a single issue all I've done is replace tires. All the dents cracks and chips happen in my 60mi commute to work through Houston.

The conversation started out friendly/ jokingly and then started to feel insulting. I pulled up in my honda as usual as my garage opened. As I got out my neighbor says man I got to ask you why you drive that car everyday and leave that one at home.. And I said I have about a 100 mile commute everyday (which it's actually more at 120mi.) and then I said this is my weekend toy. This is when I felt insulted he starts lecturing me on how dumb it was to pay for a car that sets and how he would drive the camaro he wouldn't care about the gas and how he'd never have 2 car payments. I just began to feel like he wanted to do this.. Ambush me with his .2 cents. Which he was treating me like I was making 2 payments and only driving 1 car. When the honda has been paid for since 2011.

What's his deal? Basically, where do people get off making assumptions how others spend there money?

Sounds like he's upset because he can't have two cars.

Did you tell him when he starts making payments on it he earns the right to tell you when to drive it. If the camaro was your only car you would drive it every day, but since you have another car that you don't mind putting all of those miles on it, it only makes sense.......common sense is not so common I guess.

Tell him that I have NINE cars. AND... I work from home and travel maybe a total of 25 miles per week running local errands (store, bank, etc.).

I'm not an argumentative person at all .. He knows I felt insulted because I did just say see you later and walk in.

When I got in I was kinda adjetated and that's what I thought oh he will definitely know the next time I drive it. Lol

I drive my Chevy Blazer most often, and it is nothing special (though I did just go and have a Flowmaster 40 added to it today to give it a little meaner sound). It gets decent mileage and I don't mind leaving it in parking lots where idiots "might" door ding it. The nice cars go out with kid gloves, and only to the right places. Tell your neighbor that it's only temporary until you arrange to have your two Ferrari's shipped down.

It's a bad idea to have only one car. On a big commute like that of course waste the honda
