Make sure to double check with your official driving record at the DMV. I had an RX-8 in my youth, and had a couple moving violations which were "dismissed" w/o points (but of course the court collected on the fines). Lo and behold, I check my driving record, and points were still recorded on my driving record, albeit not as many as originally charged with. I guess if your insurance hasn't gone up though you're good.

$55 man he gave you a gift. Knowing my luck I would have receved a ticket for the entire amount. As for the trucks going under the speed limit I have a good friend that is a cop and he actual does traffic stops for people like that (Impeading the flow of traffic).

Jump in an online defensive drivers course before you go to court and take it in and show the judge. I have seen several judge's that will just throw out the ticket and just have you pay court costs.

radar detectors are outdated with the new lasers they are shooting with. Pretty much if your radar detector goes off it means "start pulling over now because you got tagged"

Wow crazy! I now know not to speed in Cali! I will be visiting there sometime in the next few months (Los Angeles area to see a few old friends!)

I will definitely check with the local DMV to check on that.. I know someone in the police department that has looked me up in his system and he came up with nothing

Wow, I've never read anything beside "the speed limit is the speed limit - no exceptions."

I once heard from a friend of mine that is a cop say "9 you're fine, 10 you're mine" in reference to speeding lol.
