Loose E-brake Anyone??

Hello on my 2ss m6 i notice the E-brake is very loose, i need to pull it up very hard and high to max it out to the top from keeping the car from rolling down a hill while i get out the car to open up my manual operated garage door to park my car inside.

Also i am aware of putting the car into gear when the car is off and parked but this is not the case here.

Is this normal? Did anyone ask the dealership to tighten up the e-brake? Would they even do it?

The first time I parked on my in-laws driveway I got out of my car and it started to roll into the street. Kind of scary. Now I know to really pull up hard on the parking brake when I'm on a hill. If it's somewhat steep I'll leave the car in gear as well.

Same here. Brakes work just fine, even after a beating during a track day, but you really have to pull up hard to get the e-brake to work right. I just make sure that I leave mine in gear. If parked on a grade, I also cut the wheels to the closest curb.

Just be sure to leave it in gear. Just ask my brother-in-law. Forgot and just set the e-brake. Rolled down a hill and smashed his then new Mustang into a community mailbox post. Bummer. Hate to see any nice car banged up, especially due to driver error.
