Good news & Bad news
I got a call today from my dealer that sId my car has shipped and is scheduled for delivery on the 6/23/09. This is the good news. It has me so excited I can wait for the weekend to be over.
Now the bad news. I also found out today that I have to go on a unplanned 5 week deployment the day after I pick up the car. This really just put a damper on the thing. So I will have to wait 5 more weeks to really enjoy my new car. Oh well, that's life in the military. Sorry for my rant but I had to get it out. It just has me a little bummed out because I am also losing out on my non refundable Las Vegas vacation I had planned for me & my wife in two weeks. Thanks for listening again.

5 weeks? I didn't know there were deployments that short. I thought they were all on the order of 6 months.

Typically you can call the place where you made your travel arrangements and advise them of military movement or activity and they will refund your money. I learned from my experiences in the military years ago.

This is an unplanned surge for a short mission. We just got back from a 7 month deployment in April and we were out the entire month of May also. With getting ready for work ups and so forth, I have been home around a total of 180 days over the last 2 1/2 years.
Well our tickets were booked through a last minute deal ticket broker and are non-refundable. I have already called and talked to them. No luck I guess I will just be out all that money.

mil is really flipped up, we have been lucky that every time Zhawk has gone over seas its been 4 months or so.
