Doing full door abl - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So I've been looking through this thread and I want to clarify some things. First of all I am under the impression that the only extra modification that needs to be done to the door is sanding the bottoms? How do I go about completing this part? It seems you mask off what you want to sand and then go at it with a dremel but does anyone have more specific instructions before i mess up my panels haha

Sorry man I just saw your message today. You do not need to use a dremel! you just need to sand by hand, with sheets of sand paper. You do not need to mask off anything either.

alright sweet. So I use a rough sand paper then a smooth one? It sounds easy but we will see

Yes sir it is easy, just look at how much I sanded in my photos and match it.

Definetly not with a dremel. Lol. Some 300 grit sand paper works fine. You can run a line a painters tape along the edge so you Have a nice straight line, or so you don't accidently sand off the wrong paint.

When I did mine I used gorilla tape as a border/guide. I used this type of tape since it was thick and I didn't have to worry about rubbing up against it since the sanding is very tedious. For the sanding part I used a sanding pen (link below). Using this was great as it left the sanded parts with even clean lines. If you choose this option you also may want buy a few extra sanding tips and rubber gloves.

The light tubes and cup holder plate came in. Still waiting on RPI to finally ship the door panels haha

So I've been using the cup holder light for a couple days and I have just two complaints. On mine the front two Velcro pads didn't lock all the way. Like if one is locked in all the way then the other one pops out. The other thing is the console lid in the back is more difficult to open. I believe it's because the plate is a bit high and I wired through the latch hole. Thankfully I can play around and fix these problems with a bit of creativity. It looks fantastic when paired with the footwells!

Update: RPI panels have shipped!!

I've not heard that one before (rocking at the front). I'll look for this.

On the console lid, just lift up on the front of it. Don't try to pull on the the latch.

They do look good!
