Tire and wheel sizes

Let me start by saying that I'm not very versed in "tire speak", so please bear with me! I searched before I started this thread and didn't see the answers I need. I apologize in advance if this has already been addressed!

I have a 2LT with stock tires and wheels and would like bigger, custom wheels. Can I put any size tire on my Camaro, provided it meets the specifications of the manufacturer? Could I also get bigger wheels on the already existing tires (so I wouldn't have the expense of new tires)?

Thanks! I saw that post but it didn't clear it up entirely for me....

Is it saying that ANY of those tire sizes listed can be used on ANY Camaro? Just want to make sure the SS doesn't have something different than the LT when it comes to frame, etc.

Nope you can put any of those tire sizes on your car. What works on a SS will work on a LT. To save on expense of tires you can move the rear tire to the front and get a larger back tire all depending on what rims you choose.

Teccboxx is correct, anything that will fit the SS can be put on the V-6's. However there is a restriction on the SS cars on downsizing the tires because of the Brembo Brake system. You should be able to get any size wheel up to 22", some have even gone to a 24" wheel.
