A friend of mine had her 2011 LS taken from her home in McKinney 12/21/12. I'm told there have been other vehicles taken from the same neighborhood on different days. One of them was a Trailblazer.

White
2011
LS
Black interior

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

This may be a dumb question but did you call ONstar to see if they can track it and turn it off so the cops can get it back and catch the thief?

Yeah, she talked to cops about that but I haven't heard the outcome yet.

the cops will be of no help at this point, well maybe some. But calling ONSTAR would be a no brainer.....

What neighborhood in McKinney is this. I know mike from whiteside lives in the McKinney area as well.

Yeah asking the cops to call ONSTAR will get you no where. Have her call ONSTAR herself. Might be useless at this point if the criminal knew what they were doing and disabled the ONSTAR system.

I'm an LEO. And yes, we can call OnStar and request a ping but they require so much "paperwork" and time due to the privacy issues that its way more beneficial for the owner to call and get it done.

What you need to realize is that for Onstar to disable the car or even track it, ONSTAR must be contacted by the Police.....and for the Police to do anything the OP must file a Police Report....that is how the Onstar system works. So once the OP files a report, and the OP ensures that the LEO's know the car is equipted with an Onstar Account (NEVER ASSUME THEY KNOW), then and only then Onstar can disable or track the car.

I don't know what area. The only times I've seen her outside of work, a bunch of us would meet at a restaurant or something.

I appreciate all the feedback. I haven't heard from her since it first happened and she was a train wreck so I can't say where she was with OnStar. I'm assuming at this point it's either too late for OnStar or it would have been found. We were hoping it was someone taking a joyride and left it somewhere. After hearing others in her area were taken and never recovered it seems more organized and she most likely won't see it again.

I figured I'd post something on here because we love our cars and can usually spot another one 2 miles away and maybe someone would notice one that was abandoned.
