should I get some new stock OEM Gaskets for a new set of Long tube headers
I'm waiting to get my new Headers from Maryland Speed & was wondering if I should go to a Chevrolet dealer & buy some OEM Gaskets for the swap??? I pretty sure that the Kooks Headers I'm getting comes with Gaskets But I heard they are not as good as the OEM ones. So does anybody think I should try to go to the chevy dealer & get a set of OEM ones?????

if you haven't removed the manifolds before now... the existing ones you have will work for the headers. The factory ones are good for one header swap. If you're gonna buy new... certainly do OEM. I bought mine for 13.00 each

The factory headers are good for many swaps. On my 4th gen I've had them on since I had an Ls1, and many on's and off's. now there's an Ls3 in it and still same gaskets lol.

Some people just feel the need to start fresh and that's certainly fine, as long as you use a new OEM gasket. That being said, like my "search" protege litle88 pointed out, your stock one is perfectly fine until it gets damaged.

I've reused mine at least 10 times. Still no leaks, they are excellent gaskets

We recommend using OEM GM gaskets. You can get away with reusing them, but we recommend new.

Might as well. They're cheap. All the installers I talked to before I did mine recommended replacing them with new OEM ones.

But do consider that they will be perfect for reuse at least 3-5 times. After that, I'd toss em. $13 is like 2 extra value meals at the BK Lounge....... Ivan @ Southwest Speed |

If it comes with gaskets, might aswell use them. If not, reuse your oem gaskets. Your car will not explode with oem gaskets. You'll be fine
