I like both cars and have both in the household. I will tell you this I have learned to like the interior of the mustang a lot more than our camaro's even though they didnt change much from 2005-2010 they did make the car a little more user friendly inside as far as, visibility convenience ect. The mustang does feel more nimble than the Camaro because of its weight difference, but i still like the camaro exterior designing a lot more.

The mustang and Camaro of now have flipped roles. Back in the 90's the mustang sn/95 looked better but was slower. Now we have a faster mustang but the Camaro apparently looks better.

The information listed in Wikipedia has long been common knowledge for decades (long before the internet was born in the late 80's, early 90's) what defines different classes of vehicles. If you can't distinguish the difference between a Mazda MX-5, Corvette and Porsche from a Camaro, Mustang and Challenger, then you need a little more time to comprehend the difference.

sigh, this debate will rage on and on through the ages...
I rented a V6 2013 mustang this summer just to see how they fare. My impression after driving the vehicle for almost two weeks is that it is not even close to the comfort level of my camaro. The car is too narrow for me (I am kinda broad shouldered). Controls are not as user friendly on the dash or steering wheel and the center console storage compartment kept opening whenever I put my right arm on it. Overall the interior materials did seem better quality over the camaro's very plastic interior though.. I also rented an LS camaro back in 2010 and that car seemed to have better response to handling and the power seemed quicker to engage than the 13 mustang I rented. Also, I tend to agree that this stock class of vehicle is not a true sports car but and pony/muscle car. IMO a sports car is any two door coupe of vert that can handle heavy g cornering, accelerate 0-60 in under 4 seconds and have a (non-governed) top speed in excess of 180MPH. |

Neither are a "Sports Car" by the definition of the term. But I think they both do a great job of fitting into it and running with some sports cars. And will out run and out handle sports cars of previous generations.
And the only gripe i really have driving the Camaro is seating position. I like to ride with my arm on the window, and had to raise the seat too high to drive the same way in the Camaro. And the interior's are both fairly well laid out. Just different until you get used to the layout. And materials are about the same. Like the aluminum dash panels on my Mustang though |

I rented a '12 Mustang convertible down in FL this spring and it was the biggest piece of junk ever. Check engine light was on, no hookups for my Ipod, a total slug of an engine. I was never so happy to get back into my Camaro.
Honestly, I wasn't surprised.....I've always been a Chevy guy, but it was the only ragtop they had to rent.
