2nd Annual Central Illinois Camaro Meet/Drag Day--May 21st

The date is SET!

MAY 21st 11 a.m. @ Ted's Garage in Clinton, IL.
Around 1 p.m. we will line up and cruise to the Central IL Dragway in Havana, IL.

The set up @ Ted's Garage will be similar to last year. If you were fortunate enough to attend last year, you know what this entails. There were 3 prizes, Best Exterior Appearance, Best Engine Appearance, Longest Distance Traveled. These are NOT, as of yet set, HOWEVER, we are working on those details. Once we arrive at the track, we will have the track to ourselves, provided we get enough people to pre-register, so MAKE SURE YOU PRE-REGISTER! There is a $25 fee for each driver, and a $10 fee for spectators, so even if you do not want to race, you can still come to the track and enjoy a CAMARO FILLED DAY! All gen's are welcome! Later into the night, after everyone has had at least 2 runs, we will take the 16 quickest vehicles (sponsored by Chicago 5th Gen) and run a quick 16 race. Entrance into the quick 16 is included in the $25 race fee, there is no additional charge. There will be t-shirts for those who qualify in the 16 with prizes going to the winner and runner-up.

There will be more details to come regarding prizes at both events. STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFO!

If you plan to attend RSVP via our Facebook event here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=103093253110198
And be sure to invite your Camaro friends!

I LOVE GM vehicles, and particularly Chevy's, but would buy any GM vehicle if I had the $$...Hopefully, one day, soon enough, a 5th Gen CAMARO! Dave_O

In posting this information on the Chicago 5th Gen site, one of the Co-chairs suggested a quick 16 sponsored by the club. I was thinking just a day to go out an have fun at the track. Having a quick 16 would make things more fun and interesting, I believe. I am meeting with the track owner, Bob, and will bounce ideas off of him, and see what other suggestions he may have. There will definitely be more details on Friday!

Guess it all depends on if IMS does "Camaro" day and "Camaro & Corvette" day this year...

May 8th is Mother's Day so the 14th would probably work better.

It all works for me, will look forward to it since we missed it last year. My wife lost her Mother right after the meet, but it is all good now. Hopefully I will have the supercharger in by then. On CSS the guy that is RLS will see the post, he helps run the site and he is a good guy. He'll contact you, you picked the right site there for dragracing events. Its in there blood!!!!!

Will try to make it this year. Too bad central IL doesnt have a 1/4 mile strip. I hate 1/8 mile!

Hahahaha, yea.... The closest would be joliet, and from what I hear, that is expensive and hard to get for something like this...

Cordova is 1/4 mile and it is right at the river before crossing over to Iowa. I have ran my car down it a few times. Not a bad place.
